New Mexico Dispensaries Donate $2,000 to University’s Medical Cannabis Program
New Mexico medicinal cannabis dispensaries have contributed $2,000 to a new program at the University of New Mexico with the only rule being that the school will use the money to show how cannabis can be utilized to battle post traumatic stress disorder and the opioid problem.
The local dispensary’s said enough is enough and put up the cash because program has experienced funding problems because donating money to fund cannabis research is illegal on a federal level, this means all of the big bucks are not helping out of fear of federal prosecution. The money kicked in by the local dispensaries will effectively double the funding to date.
Dr. Jacob Vigil the man in charge has spear headed multiple study’s on how therapeutic cannabis can lessen doctor prescribed medication and help battle opioid addiction.
