Hey DEA, Stop Lying!!

Hey DEA, Stop Lying!!

Hey DEA, Stop Lying!!

The 710 Chronicle receives emails and correspondence from many legalization advocates. Our friends over at ASA are now bringing us a petition to force the DEA to stop lying about Cannabis, reefer madness style.  Please sign this petition to help further the cause.

Last week, Americans for Safe Access (ASA) filed a petition with the Department of Justice (DOJ) demanding that the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) immediately update misinformation about cannabis. Many people don’t realize that it is illegal for federal agencies to disseminate incorrect information. The DEA has admitted that cannabis does not lead to harder drugs (gateway theory), long-term brain damage, psychosis, and other alleged harms, and yet they keep distributing this false information. So, ASA has petitioned them to revise this information.

Why does this matter?

Federal and state lawmakers utilize DEA information on cannabis to make decisions regarding their stance on medical cannabis legislation. You will not find ONE advocate for medical cannabis who has not heard legislators use the gateway theory, long-term brain damage, or psychosis, to deny support on this issue. Forcing the DEA to correct them would give advocates the ability to say, unequivocally, “That is not true, and the DEA has admitted that as well,” effectively removing these falsehoods from the conversation.

How can you help?

We have a petition asking President Obama to instruct the DEA to correct the information. We need you to sign and share this Change.org petition asking President Obama to instruct the DEA to correct the information before he leaves office. The ONLY way we can achieve the required 100,000 signatures is with YOUR help!
