With the office door open, along Central Avenue, I can hear all the morning commuter cars racing by. It’s only 8:45 after all, and this is the Wake and Bake review.
This morning’s test subject is Cheese from Arizona Grassroots. Yep, simply Cheese. Before partaking in this review, I researched the strain – because I’d never heard of it and wanted to know what I was smoking this time. After all, a lot of reviewers go to a dispensary knowing what ailment they want to treat and pick it that way. It’s opposite and interesting when you’re given a sample to try out.
So, back to the Cheese. It’s called Cheese because it’s supposed to taste like cheddar cheese, according to Wikileaf or because of it’s strong, sour smell, according to Leafly. I thought it smelled like skunk, sour and spicy. I didn’t smell any kind of cheese on this flower.
The bud felt hard and dense. It was a little challenging to get it all through the grinder. The grinder was nice – by GR8TR from Kannastör. We rolled up our morning joint and away we went.
The joint was slow burning and tasted sweet and sour. It left a spicy taste on your lips and tongue. The whole room smelled skunky and floral. It was very aromatic.
After about 10 minutes, I went outside with my coffee and smoked a cigarette. I noticed how relaxed and heavy my body felt standing there. I was a little spaced out and then I really felt like sitting down, so I went back into the computer.
Cheese is an indica-dominant hybrid from the U.K. that was bred from Skunk #1 and Afghani genetics. Skunk #1 is a cross of Afghani, Mexican Acapulco Gold and Columbia Gold genetics.
This hybrid is full of indica, and Cheese is popular because of its high potency and unique flavor.
It’s reported to give relaxed, happy effects and be great for pain, anxiety, loss of appetite and depression. I would have to agree with the relaxation effects of the body. I could feel my muscles loosen everywhere. I kinda felt like I wanted to lay down, but I’m at the damn office. I also had zero anxiety and felt creative and sometimes lost in thoughts.
It’s reported to give you a dry mouth and I agree with that. I came prepared today with coffee and a soda.
About an hour later, I wanted to try some more Cheese, so I sparked up a few bong hits. I’m good to go in the pain department. I’m still relaxed and content. If someone asked me if I wanted to go hiking on this nice November morning, I say, “No thanks. But do you want to try some of this weed?”
