This morning, we tried out some Afghani Kush from WAM, at 12550 W Thunderbird Rd. Ste. 114B, El Mirage, AZ 85335.
I looked up some info on this strain before smoking it and all signs pointed to this being a night time indica. Maybe it wasn’t the best idea to review it in the morning, but hey, I’m always up for some relaxation.
I checked out the sample buds, which were mostly a dark evergreen color with lots of rust colored hairs. They were tight and dense and smelled like orange Pine-Sol with some earthy undertones.
We ground it up in our Phoenician Grinder and rolled up a joint. It tasted fruity, sweet and piney right from the start. It took about ten minutes to fully kick in, but when it did, I noticed how relaxed my body was and all of my tension had faded away. My thoughts started wandering and I was having trouble concentrating on the task at hand. I noticed my eyes feeling heavy and decided to take a walk. My pain was improved and I hadn’t taken my 800mg of Advil that morning. I was zoned out and was having writer’s block so I looked up information on Afghani Kush on the internet.
According to numerous sources, and summed up by Leafly, “Afghan Kush’s roots trace back to the Hindu Kush mountain range near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. Its genotype has been perfected over centuries, making it the ultimate source for hash. Revered for its heavy resin content and powerfully sedating effects, Afghan Kush is a top choice for anyone looking to relax after a long day.”
About an hour later, I was still feeling the effects of this indica and needed some caffeine to keep going or a sofa to lay down on and watch some TV. Alas, duty called and I had to opt for caffeine.
If you’re looking for a nice indica that helps with stress, pain and insomnia, Afghani Kush from WAM in El Mirage, may be the way to go.
